Documentary. 14 Minutes. HD Video and Primitive Computer Animation.
One segment of the Gun Shot Valley documentary project, intended to work as a self-contained piece. The film explores a series of racial conflicts between the Christ Miracle Healing Center and Church and the Cochise County Sheriff's Office in the small southern Arizona community of Miracle Valley. Screened at the 2012 University and Film Association conference at Columbia College. An updated version is in development, with emphasis on developing additional visual material.
My intentions with this piece were to create an experiential, rather than objective, sense of the story. I'm pretty sure that I did not succeed. But I'm happy with the direction, if not the execution, of incorporating animated material. The tone, I feel, is not quite right. It's too jokey, rather than absurd and terrifying.
